Overview

The Turkish government's flagship fully funded scholarship, run by the Presidency for Turks Abroad and Related Communities (YTB). It covers associate, bachelor's, master's and PhD study at Turkish universities — tuition, a monthly stipend, free accommodation, health insurance, a 1-year Turkish language course and a round-trip flight — and, uniquely, YTB handles your university placement for you from up to 12 programme preferences. Applications are submitted once a year through the single TBBS portal, with no application fee and no separate university application.

Why it is notable: YTB places you at the university — you never apply to a university yourself, which applicants from embassy-track scholarships often miss; the window is the same every year (10 January–20 February) but only ~40 days long, and the portal historically slows or crashes in the final days.
