The ASEAN Undergraduate Scholarship is Singapore Management University's flagship award for citizens of ASEAN member countries (excluding Singapore citizens) starting a full-time undergraduate degree. It covers 100% of subsidised tuition fees plus S$5,800 a year for living, S$3,000 a year for accommodation and a S$1,750 computer grant. There is no separate scholarship form — you indicate interest in the scholarship section of the SMU admission application.
Why it is notable: the award itself carries no bond, BUT recipients must accept the MOE Tuition Grant, which binds international students to work for a Singapore-registered company for 3 years after graduation — the single most misunderstood term of the award; shortlisted candidates are interviewed (Discovery Day interviews run March–May in the admissions cycle).
