The Wellcome Early-Career Awards support early-career researchers ready to lead their own innovative health-related research project. The award covers your full salary plus up to £400,000 in research expenses over about five years. There are no deadlines — applications can be submitted at any time and are assessed at regular shortlisting meetings.
Why it is notable: One of the world's largest always-open schemes for early-career researchers — no fixed deadline, salary plus £400,000, and administering organisations allowed across the UK, Ireland, and most low- and middle-income countries.
