Bachelor's Degree Scholarships —…one-time or first-year entrance awards; degree scholarships at $2,000–$4,000…

Overview

Humber Polytechnic in Toronto offers a family of entrance awards for international students starting in 2027. Most are automatic — the President's International Entrance Award (CAD 2,000) and automatic Bachelor's Degree Scholarships (up to CAD 4,000, renewable) require no separate application, while BComm entrants in Winter 2027 also receive the CAD 10,000 Senior Dean's Award. Each intake (January, May, September 2027) has its own offer-acceptance and study-permit dates that act as the real deadlines.

Why it is notable: There is no separate scholarship form for the headline awards — admission plus meeting the intake dates is the application. The older "one student per country" merit scholarship no longer appears on Humber's official page; the current system is the President's Award plus automatic GPA-based degree scholarships.
Funding at a glance

What it covers

  • President's International Entrance Award: CAD 2,000 bursary credited to the student account (applied over the first two semesters at CAD 1,000 per semester per the award terms; any overpayment rolls to the next semester's fees).
  • Bachelor's Degree Scholarships (automatic, direct-from-high-school Bachelor's entrants): CAD 4,000 (95%+ GPA), CAD 3,500 (90–94.9%), CAD 3,000 (85–89.9%), CAD 2,000 (80–84.9%) — renewable each year at 80%+ annual average; CAD 1,500 (75–79.9%) one-time only.
  • Senior Dean's Bachelor of Commerce Award (Winter 2027 only): CAD 10,000 total, disbursed as CAD 2,500 per semester across the first four semesters; stackable with the merit-based entrance scholarships; no separate application.
  • International Onshore Scholarship: CAD 1,000 one-time credit (disbursed after the 10th day of classes); first-come, first-served if eligible applications exceed funding.
  • Degree Transfer Scholarships (automatic): one-time CAD 1,500 (one-year Ontario college certificate) or CAD 2,500 (two-/three-year diploma), GPA 80%+.
  • Bachelor's Degree Scholarship for EAP graduates: one-time CAD 1,500 (EAP Level 8, GPA 80%+).

Application essentials

Requirements

Review each requirement before you begin the application.

01

Admission first

Apply to and be admitted to an eligible full-time Humber programme. There is no standalone scholarship form for the headline awards.

02

Intake dates are the real deadlines

For the President's International Entrance Award, accept the offer and file the IRCC study-permit application by the published dates for your intake (Jan 2027: 30 Oct 2026 / 6 Nov 2026; May 2027: 12 Feb 2027 / 26 Feb 2027; Sep 2027: 9 Jul 2027 / 16 Jul 2027).

03

GPA bands (Bachelor's Degree Scholarships)

95%+ → $4,000; 90–94.9% → $3,500; 85–89.9% → $3,000; 80–84.9% → $2,000; 75–79.9% → $1,500 (one-time). Awards at $2,000 and above renew yearly at an 80%+ average.

04

Direct-from-high-school rule

Bachelor's Degree Scholarships are for students coming directly from high school/secondary school — no prior college or university attendance, and no Humber EAP studies.

05

Enrolment maintenance

Register and remain enrolled as a full-time international student paying international fees past the withdrawal deadline (10th day of classes) of the awarded term, with no refund of that term's fees — otherwise the award is revoked.

06

Excluded programmes

The English for Academic Purposes programme and Board Certificates are excluded from the President's International Entrance Award.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need to submit a separate application for Humber's entrance scholarships?
No — the President's International Entrance Award, the automatic Bachelor's Degree Scholarships, the Senior Dean's BComm Award, and the International Onshore Scholarship are all granted on the basis of admission and meeting the intake conditions. There is no separate scholarship form.
How does the President's International Entrance Award reach me?
It is a $2,000 bursary credited to your MyHumber account after the 10th day of classes (applied over the first two semesters); any overpayment is automatically applied to the next semester's fees. It is non-refundable and granted only once per student.
Can the Senior Dean's Bachelor of Commerce Award be combined with other scholarships?
Yes — the official page states it is available to new international BComm students "in addition to Humber's merit-based entrance scholarships."
What happens if I don't meet the conditions?
The award is revoked if the conditions (offer acceptance by the intake date, IRCC study-permit filing by the intake date, deposit/fee payment, full-time enrolment past day 10, no fee refund) are not met.
Are the Bachelor's Degree Scholarships renewable?
The $2,000, $3,000, $3,500, and $4,000 bands are renewable each year if the student achieves 80% or above in each year of the Bachelor's degree. The $1,500 band is one-time only.
I'm already living in Canada. Which award applies to me?
The $1,000 International Onshore Scholarship (one-time), for international applicants already in Canada starting in Winter, Summer, or Fall 2027 — awarded first-come, first-served if eligible applications exceed funding.
Can international tuition status change affect my scholarship?
Yes — international entrance scholarships/awards apply to students paying international tuition rates only; Humber reserves the right to revoke the scholarship if the tuition category changes to domestic.
