130 scholarships for the 2027 call (per…one stay of minimum 20 natural days, maximum 11 months (2027 call terms).

Overview

AUIP and the Andalusian public universities fund 130 travel grants a year for academic stays between Andalusia and Latin America/Portugal. It pays your international airfare (up to €1,500) for research stays, internships, curriculum work or joint projects of 20 days to 11 months — open to postgraduate students, professors, researchers and postgraduate-programme managers.

Why it is notable: unlike the general Magallanes programme, this call pairs one specific destination pole (Andalusia's public universities) with a bigger travel allowance (€1,500 vs €1,300) and longer stays (up to 11 months) — and it runs two application windows a year.
Funding at a glance

What it covers

  • International airfare between Andalucía and Latin America purchased by AUIP through its travel agent, up to €1,500 (if the ticket costs less, the difference up to €1,500 is transferred to a Spanish bank account against boarding passes, bank certificate and stay-start…
  • Up to €700 for travel between Andalucía and Portugal (reimbursed by bank transfer against travel and accommodation receipts).
  • (Explicitly not covered: accommodation, living expenses, medical insurance — the fellow must take out and pay for a medical/pharmaceutical + repatriation policy — visa costs, and any ticket-change fees.)
